Hannah LeesFriday Late: If I won't burn, where will the light come from?

Friday 18 October 2013, 7–9pm V22 F Block

This Friday Late event 'If I won't burn, where will the light come from?' is a relaxed affair and ritualistic offering to its participants. Young London Artist Hannah Lees will be serving up special Einkorn bread (made from the closest living relation to the first cultivated grain) and wine. Accompanied by a projection of Pink Floyd live at Pompeii, this participatory event explores religious ritual, using food and alcohol as materials with which to coalesce people. Making reference to ancient culture and ruins, the event also explores themes of the finiteness of life.

‘It evokes the fire that Alexander VI often had burned to remind him that all the glory of this world vanishes like smoke.’ – Camus
