"It's not filmmaking, it is perhaps reality. It is not theatre; it is not installation, maybe fiction. It is not performance." This is how Laura Lima describes her project Sombra de Cinema (Cinema Shadow). The artist uses the space of a small old traditional cinema. Through a live feed, the projection shows a different environment, a neutral closed space with shelving units for props that Lima finds, buys or builds in London. The actress Stella Rabello is in the space. Filmmaker Paulo Camacho operates the camera. Lima directs the actress, camera and objects. The film is played live at the theatre.
