5 May to 3 August 2012 V22 F Block

V22 presents a reading followed by a discussion of Clarissa Mudukuti's latest book Kwame Nrkrumah the Man, which is also available for purchase as part of ZIMARTS Day.

The Rt. Hon. Dr. Kwame Nkrumah (1909 - 1972), was the leader of Ghana and its predecessor state, the Gold Coast, from 1951 to 1966. Overseeing the nation's independence from British colonial rule in 1957, Nkrumah was the first President of Ghana and Prime Minister of Ghana. An influential Twentieth Century advocate of Pan-Africanism, he was a founding member of the Organisation of African Unity and was the winner of the Lenin Peace Prize in 1963.

The lack of knowledge of African heroes, African politics and awareness of the issues that plague our continent among the youth, inspired Clarissa Mudukuti to write Kwame Nkrumah the Man.
