Born 1984 in the Isle of Wight, Ian Law lives and works in London where he has exhibited at the Laura Bartlett Gallery, Rodeo Gallery, Supplement and David Roberts Art Foundation, London, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and Galeria Plan B, Berlin. . He graduated with an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London, in 2009. Law is a process-based painter whose work investigates authorship and subjectivity. He often works with previously exhibited materials–repositioning or reforming them–in order to highlight the objects’ agency or autonomy.
