Forest Hill Fashion Week: Catwalk Show
Saturday 24 September 2016, 2–4pm V22 Louise House
This year, V22 is hosting the Forest Hill Fashion Week Catwalk Show at Louise House in Forest Hill. The show will open with a live performance by Lydia Maddix. Collections will be shown by Georgia Nash, Uniquely Lalah, Emperor Empress, and Best of Both Boutique, and Manisha from Crepe Records will be playing a music set. The second half of the Catwalk Show will be by Donald Waugh of Pavement2Catwalk. This year for FHFW Donald has been working with Blenheim ReAL Catford, Brighter Horizons Downham, and Link Place Hainault.
Forest Hill Fashion Week showcases local talent in a festival of fashion. Featuring both established and emerging designers, the fashion week is organised by Forest Hill Arts: a group of volunteers with local shops, cafés, bars, other venues and community interest groups all joining forces to fund and host an exciting line-up of fashion-themed events.
The 2015 theme was ‘Creativity, Community and Culture’. Various events over the week involved the whole community. The catwalk event closed with a show from Pavement2catwalk, an inspiring organisation dedicated to involving people with mental health problems, addiction issues and disabilities in creative projects using fashion and design.
Founded in 2013 by South East London local Louise Brooks, this biannual event builds on the momentum created by the SEE3 Portas Pilot investment to regenerate local high streets in the area.
FHFW is a family friendly, inclusive, community festival with something to offer for people of all ages and will feature workshops, exhibitions, family events and catwalk shows hosted by Forest Hill’s local businesses.
Anyone under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
