Lullaby Trail: A Scratch Choir for Parents and Babies
7 to 28 September 2017, 10.30–11.30am V22 Louise House
Lullaby Trail is a four week scratch choir for mothers/ fathers and babies led by Vocal Performance Initiative Director Matt Reuben James Ward. Participation is by donation at each session, reservations via eventbrite are essential.
The four week workshop series focuses on devising a new lullaby based on the experiences of participating mothers/ fathers (of any vocal ability) and babies (under 12 months). Acknowledging that life is a journey, sometimes a fast paced highway and at others a unknown trail, Lullaby Trail explores the unique relationship between parents and young babies, and looks to articulate the joy and struggles of this short period of time which can often be isolating.
Participants will have the opportunity to extend their singing and creative writing skills within a relaxed and baby friendly environment. The project will culminates in a short (20 minute) open showing of the scratch choir, featuring a newly devised song by participants.
Conditions: This event is a four week course, by booking you agree to attend all sessions where possible. Babies should be under the age of 12 months.
Please note: This event has been postponed until later in the year.
