Raw Tonk Records present three improvising duos:

COLIN WEBSTER / ANDREW LISLE

The London based sax and drums pairing of Colin Webster and Andrew Lisle are quickly establishing themselves on the European avant garde scene, both as a duo and working with a broad range of collaborators including Dirk Serries and John Dikeman. Their debut album as a duo, ‘Firehouse Tapes’ was released on cassette by Raw Tonk Records at the end of 2015.

TI/OM

Ti/om is an improvising duo featuring Tom Ward (bass clarinet, flute) and Tim Fairhall (double bass). Ward and Fairhall first met in about 2007 while studying at the Guildhall School of Music and soon began meeting for duo sessions, exploring the dynamic and rapport between woodwinds and bass through free improvisation. The duo recently collaborated with Swedish percussionist Matilda Rolfsson, and their album ‘Ashes’ was released by Raw Tonk Records this year.

CATH ROBERTS / SETH BENNETT

A new collaboration, with double bassist Seth Bennett, and baritone saxophonist Cath Roberts. The pair are involved with many diverse projects, and also both collaborate in Cath’s band Sloth Racket. Cath is also half of Ripsaw Catfish with Anton Hunter, who released their debut album on Raw Tonk Records in 2014.

Raw Tonk is a London based record label releasing free jazz, improvised music, noise, etc.

This event is part of the Summer Club Sound residency at V22 Summer Club 2016.

Anyone under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
